Grommets
We manufacture a superior range of rubber grommets in various sizes, tailored to industry specifications. These grommets are designed to protect sharp edges of drilled or punched holes mechanically.
O Grommets
Rubber grommets are variations of eyelets or rings used primarily as insulation devices. Originating in the garment industry as fasteners, the term “grommet” has evolved into an industrial standard for cable management and modular wiring systems. Grommets serve to strengthen or protect an opening and to insulate and protect objects passing through openings. They are inserted into holes in mechanical parts to prevent grounding, chafing, or mechanical damage, ensuring safety and flexibility in cable management systems.
Types of Rubber Used:
Butyl Rubber (Isobutylene Isoprene Elastomer):
- Resistant to water, steam, alkalis, and oxygenated solvents.
- Low gas permeation.
- Provides high-energy absorption (dampening).
- Good hot tear strength.
Nitrile and Styrene Butadiene Rubber (SBR):
- Suitable for use with most oils, hydraulic fluids, and alcohol.
- Various proprietary compounds are available for specific applications.
Applications:
- Small Grommets (Eyelets): Used in shoes, clothing, corsets, curtains, leather, and other fabrics.
- Large Grommets: Useful for organizing surge protectors, fax/modem lines, electrical wiring outlets, and computer cables.
- Commercial Tarps: Employed to cover outdoor furniture, woodpiles, boats, and cars.
- Cable Management: Essential for managing large amounts of cabling under floors, using grommets for effective organization.
